this is a safe space
Reaching out for support is hard. You are brave for being here! It’s hard to recognize that we may need help from others as we navigate the highs and lows of life. I use a strengths based, client-centered approach and try to encourage the clients I work with to recognize their courage in asking for help.
My name is Julia Ewanowski. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I also have my Masters of Public Health. I specialize in perinatal mental health, or mood and anxiety changes that happen before, during & after pregnancy, perinatal trauma, OCD, grief & loss, infertility, parenting struggles, adoption and relationship conflicts. I also treat the mental health conditions that can accompany chronic health conditions, health-related traumas, terminal illness & caregiver burnout. I use a trauma-informed approach and have extensive training in EMDR, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, ACT, ERP and Advanced Grief training.
A little bit about me: I am originally from the panhandle of Florida. I moved out West after college wanting to explore life in the mountains- I like to hike, ski, trail run & dabble with mountain-biking. A few years later, I met my spouse, and we now have two young kids who keep us very busy.
Hopefully this intro helps you see my passion for mental health work. I am continually blown away by the resilience, flexibility & adaptability of the human spirit. It really is an honor to be part of people’s lives in this trusting and vulnerable way. I don’t take this role lightly & I have the utmost respect for each person I get to spend time with.
